A community hero is someone who makes a difference in their neighborhood. They ignite hope, spark change and weave the fabric of their community – all while serving as role models for others to follow. These unsung local figures are soulful shopkeepers, dedicated volunteers and elders whose very lives are chapters in their neighborhood’s shared history book. Whether they are fighting homelessness, promoting education or embracing diversity, they are making a real difference.
They are the neighbors we all know and admire. These heroes are people who volunteer their time, offer support to friends and strangers alike, or just help make their world a little better. They are the first responders at your kid’s baseball game, the people who run your favorite coffee shop and the teachers that dedicate their careers to helping students learn.
Our communities are stronger and more liveable because of the work that these individuals do. And they deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. Fortunately, there are many ways that we can support these heroes, including providing them with the resources they need to grow their impact. This is why we developed the Community Hero program, a complimentary resource hub for Dewlyn clients once their 1:1 services have ended.
If you know a hero who has made an impact on their community, we encourage you to nominate them. The selected heroes will receive four tickets and four pregame hospitality passes to a 2025 Beaver Football game. In addition, they will be highlighted in-game and on social media by Alfa Insurance and Troy Athletics.
